STM is delighted to be shortlisted for an award at the Women in Rail Awards 2020 in the category ‘Best Apprenticeship Scheme’.
‘The Women in Rail Awards aim to showcase and reward individuals and companies (large and small) who have made a significant contribution to improving gender balance, diversity and inclusion in the UK railway industry in the last few months.’
The panel has received over 300 nominations for 8 awards, and STM is extremely proud to make it to the shortlist of such a prestigious and well known award.
This particular category is a recognition of an organisation who has developed a strong and successful apprenticeship scheme in UK.
The names of the overall category winners will be announced on Tuesday 22 September 2020, at the historic Roundhouse in Camden. Until then, we are keeping our fingers crossed!
Feedback from some of the apprentices:
‘A BIG thank you to STM for giving me the opportunity to serve as Human Resource Apprentice. I have gained valuable insight into the HR industry over the past year. Due to the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, I had the chance to observe, assist and study whilst receiving great help from the HR team and helping me with the next stage in my career. Not only have I got a Business administrator qualification, thanks to STM, but I also got myself a family. Also, a BIG SHOUT OUT TO Dev, Tola and Guy Young for the support and care. This apprenticeship has definitely increased my interest in pursuing a career in HR and now given the opportunity to become an HR assistant at STM I look forward to growing with the company.’
Mary Olubori, HR Assistant‘I would like to say a very big thank you to STM for giving me the opportunity to explore my interest in HR and allow me to progress within the company.
The last year has been an amazing journey and I have enjoyed every second of it. My team has been very supportive and helpful in training me to be the best I can be within my role. I started out as an apprentice and thanks to my team I have learnt the importance HR holds within a business and I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and taking on new roles and responsibilities. I have met many wonderful people at STM and have been able to learn new skills from every individual. Thank you for believing in me and I look forward to see what comes next!’
Anisa Miah, HR Assistant‘I’m very excited to join STM and have already learnt a lot during the past 3 weeks. Everyone is very friendly and supportive here. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow with STM.’
